Great advice on having a great day! My score is 26 out of 30. The breathing is a good reminder. Definitely the healthy eating, exercise, a good nights rest, goal planning, and humor works for me. This is a great list to post up and re-read when one's day is not going well. This list can help anyone turn a not-so-good day around.
Thank you Christopher for the tips.
Blessings,
Linda

WOW! It's a good thing that we're into multitasking. I'm probably doing about 1/3 of these things in the natural course of the day, but I'll have to regroup to work in the rest, especially the ones about taking care of myself. I'm taking care of my husband who has Alzheimer's Disease and helping him dress and take care of his personal needs takes a lot of time. I'm at my peak from 5:30 or 6:00 a.m. and the energy cycle takes a dip about 2:00 p.m. BUT I'm learning much that will smooth the rest of my path through life:
 * that anger only hurts me
 * that a smile changes many situations from tense to peaceful
 * that a laugh can make us both feel joyful
 * that a wink can make us feel devilish
 * that walking away sometimes defuses a bad situation
 * that his verbal attacks are not coming from the man I married
 * that I have to set aside the first and last hour of the day for myself
I'm sure that there are other learnings, but these are the ones that come readily to mind. Oh,yes. If I lie down with him when he goes to bed at night and talk about the good things in the day we often end up having a meaningful exchange. He tells me that he appreciates the things I do for him, that he loves me, and that he doesn't know what he'd do without me. This is reason enough to do the best job I'm able to.
